Feuding faeries, beguiled lovers and wandering townsfolk cross paths and purposes on the eve of the summer solstice in William Shakespeare’s original tale of love, magic and mistaken identity.

Media attention

Aerial insecticide spraying will take place in Plymouth county, and in the town of Plymouth, over this weekend for mosquito control. We have been assured by the MA Department of Agricultural Resources that there is a buffer zone along the coastline where there will be no spraying, and that Pilgrim State Park falls well within this buffer.

We have been assured that when the proposed spraying goes forward,
it will not affect our performances.

For more information on the spraying, please click here.

CAST
Emily Rose Barry (Faerie) has found a second family in her PCT castmates, and A Midsummer Night's Dream will be no exception. She became addicted to the thrill of performing outdoors in the inaugural Shakespeare on the Rock production, as Ursula in Much Ado about Nothing, and returned last year to play the goddess Diana in Pericles. Other PCT credits include roles in Broadway Through the Years, Money, Power, Murder, Lust, Revenge…!(under Midsummer castmate Jess Wilson), Some Enchanted Evening, and Almost, Maine. A freshman at Ithaca College, she recently graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Kingston MA, where she either acted in or stage managed every single show since 2004. Come fall, she will brave the harsh temperatures of upstate New York while studying journalism and theatre. She would like to thank her family and friends, especially her mother Carol and her beloved Much Ado dance partner, for their undying support.
Kelsey Birk (Peaseblossom) is a student at Westfield State College, and has enjoyed acting since her small(er) days when she would put on horribly boring shows for her family. She has since improved, and performed all throughout her four years at Middleboro High School, her first show being Bye Bye Birdie, and her favorite roles being Twillie in Who Calls? and Mrs. Jesse James in Bessie the Bandit's Beautiful Baby. She continues to do shows at Westfield State as a Theatre Major, and she is so happy to be a part of Shakespeare on the Rock! She looks forward to hopefully doing it again!
Elizabeth Closter (Helena) majored in Theatre Arts at Palm Beach Atlantic University where her favorite performances included playing nine different characters in A.R. Gurney's The Dining Room and a Russian hit-woman named Dasha in the series Campus Legends. Since graduating Elizabeth has had roles in a number of independent films, including Abby in The Wanderer, Fay in Once Again, Melissa in Esc., Cietta in Cietta, and Amy in My Last Day. She had her first experience with Plymouth Community Theatre in Almost, Maine in February, and is thrilled to have the opportunity of working with them again, especially on such an amazing show.
Mark Estano (Nick Bottom/Pyramus) began acting when he participated in an acting seminar with Christopher Lane of BU's College of Fine Arts. Memorable roles include The Teacher in The Great Divorce, Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice, Don Pedro in Plymouth Community Theatre's inaugural "Shakespeare on the Rock" production of Much Ado About Nothing and he most recently did double duty with PCT on Pericles, serving as music director and playing a minstrel. He is an accomplished musician and can often be heard performing locally with his Watermelon Alligator Theatre co-founder and fellow PCT actor, Jess Wilson. He currently attends Quincy College School of Nursing and works as a medical assistant in his hometown of Plymouth.
Pat Foley (Egeus, Straveling/Moonshine) is embarking on his third acting adventure with the Plymouth Community Theater. He has been involved in several other PCT shows from backstage. Favorite roles include Ramrod in Bessie the Bandits Beautiful Baby , Boult in Pericles, and his eagerly anticipated role as Patrick Foley in an unpublished, unwritten (yet) play called The Life and Woes of Patrick George Coleman Foley. Patrick is currently a student at Massasoit Community College where he is studying Nursing. Pat reminds everyone that, as Lewis Carroll said, “If you don’t know where you are going, then any road will take you there.” He would like to thank his mother, Lauren, Papa Chace, Emily, Chewbacca, Blue Blinds Bakery, Barack Obama, and the amazing cast and crew who never cease to amaze him with their amazing abilities. Lets break some legs!
Timothy Green (Theseus) is studying Music Performance on Trombone and Music Education at the University of Massachusetts of Lowell. He has always loved the performing arts, music being his career choice, but has always found time to enjoy theatre. He was involved with theatre throughout high school.
