An Improv Workshop
w/Rachel Sullivan

   This Improvisation workshop is for beginner to intermediate level adults who want to improve their skills on stage or work on confidence in their lives. The class will begin with exercises and games to learn the basics and become comfortable with one another. We will then work towards using improv in short to long term scenes. Throughout the class there will be a lot of movement so comfortable clothing is a must. This class will help build skills, confidence, and outside of the box thinking! All material will be provided.

  • Where: The Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court St., Plymouth
  • When : Saturday mornings 10 am – 12 pm
  • Dates : March 11th – April 15th
  • Cost: $175 Participant  Fee

              $50 Auditing Fee – observe without participating






 

About Rachel Sullivan:
   Rachel has been involved with theatre throughout her life as an actor, director,teacher, and producer. She has taught at BurtWood School of Performing Arts and Everwood Day Camp. She has directed shows throughout college and grad school. In the fall semesters of 2010 and 2011 she directed and produced two musicals at Middleboro High School. From 2012-2013 she was involved in theater in Burlington, VT at the Flynn Center of Performing Arts, Essex Community Players, and Off Center for the Dramatic Arts. In the spring of 2016 she produced the musical for Hingham Middle School. She has been involved in shows with Hat Trick Theater, Nemasket River Productions, and Plymouth Community Theater. Rachel graduated from Curry College in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication concentrating in Theatre. In 2015 she received her Master’s degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College.​

Audition/Monologue Workshop

w/Derek Stearns

   This 6 week workshop teaches the tools needed for strong auditioning.  Through cold readings and work on monologues the actors will learn how to adapt in any audition setting, as well as learn how to create a monologue from a scene. All material will be provided.


Where: The Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court St., Plymouth
When : Tuesday nights 7-9pm
Dates : March 7th – April 18th (no class on April 4th)
Cost: $175 Participant  Fee
              $50 Auditing Fee – observe without participating







About Derek Stearns:
   Derek Stearns, a member of AEA, AFTRA, SAG, has studied at the Trinity Rep Conservatory, where he earned his Equity membership, as well as with Karen Shepard, and Michael Shurtleff. Over his prestigious career he has taught acting both locally and nationally.
  Derek has also worked in various capacities with Trinity Repertory Company, Lyric Stage, New Repertory Theatre, Penobscot Theatre, Speakeasy, Stetson Underground, The Company Theatre and Curtain Call Theatre.
  In addition to hosting television shows like Victory Garden (PBS), Rock Solid and Indoors Out (DIY Network/HGTV) - totaling over 200 episodes – Derek has also been seen in television commercials for Citizens Bank, McDonalds, Megabucks, Filene’s Basement and Dunkin Donuts.
